"Hold your head above the water" 2025 Oil on Canvas 8" x 12" approx.
This piece reimagines the phrase “keep your head above water”—a call for endurance in the face of struggle—by shifting the focus from solitary survival to shared support.
The face, sculpted in smooth gradients, is peaceful yet marked by tears - silver droplets - emphasising both despair and relief. Similarly, the surrounding swirls evoke both water and air, blurring boundaries between the weight of drowning alone and the lightness of being held above the surface, able to breathe.
